Day 1: Tirana

Day 2 : Tirana / Elbasan / Pogradec / Korce (190 Km)
Breakfast. Departure to Elbasan, a city known in ancient times as Scampa, located in the center of Albania. After the visit of the castle-town, we leave for Pogradec to visit Lake Ohrid, one of the largest lakes on the Balkan peninsula, considered one of the oldest on earth. Continue to Korca, an important cultural and economic center of southeastern Albania. Corca is a pretty urban center with slate roofs, first mentioned in the 13th century. Its current appearance is due to the modernization of the Ottoman era, when the city, conquered by the Turks, became an important crossroads for trade to Asia, known for the manufacture of carpets and for a bazaar that today is a national monument. The historic center has preserved its integrity, despite the great works of socialist social housing. Visit to the Museum of Medieval Art. Hotel accommodation. Overnight in Korca.
Day 3 : Korca / Permet / Gjirokaster (190 Km)
Breakfast. Walking along a scenic road in the mountains we travel to Gjirokaster, a city declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco. Stop in the city of Permet, to visit the beautiful Orthodox church of Santa Maria di Leusa from the 18th century. In the afternoon arrival in Gjirokaster, known as the "City of Stone", because most of the old houses in its old town are totally built in this material. City that has admirably preserved its architecture of Turkish influence. We visit the imposing citadel of medieval origin and rebuilt in the Ottoman period from where spectacular views of the city and mountains are opened. Hotel accommodation. Overnight in Gjirokaster.
Day 4 : Gjirokaster / Blue Eye / Butrint / Saranda (56 Km)
Breakfast. We will visit the old town of Gjirokaster with its tower-shaped houses built between the 18th and 19th centuries. Departure for Saranda. Stop along the path to the Blue Eye, a karstic spring of rare beauty. We continue towards Butrint, an archaeological site declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Visit of the ancient Greek-Roman city inhabited until the end of the Middle Ages. At the end of the visit, transfer to Saranda, a coastal city located opposite the island of Corfu. Day 5 : Saranda / Porto Palermo / Apollonia / Monastery of Ardenica / Berat (225 Km)
Breakfast. Departure towards Berat, along the spectacular coast road of the Riviera between Saranda and Vlora, nicknamed "the last secret of Europe" for the still uncontaminated nature. Along this route there will be stops in the most panoramic points, such as in the Gulf of Porto Palermo, where we will visit the fortress of Ali Pasha and in the Llogara pass (1025 m asl). Visit of the ancient city of Apollonia, located on the famous Via Egnatia, one of the most important cities of Ancient Rome. The famous orator Romano Cicerone, amazed by the beauty of Apollonia called it in his Filippiche "magna urbs et gravis", or "a big and important city". In the first century BC, Octavian Augustus studied here oratory until he heard the news of the murder of Caesar in the Senate and returned to Rome, later becoming emperor. Visit of the city and an Orthodox monastery turned into an archaeological museum. Later, visit to the Ardenica Monastery, where in 1451, the marriage of Skanderbeg, national hero of Albania, with Andronika Arianiti was celebrated. Day 6: Berat / Durres / Tirana (172 Km)
Breakfast. We will visit the old city of Berat, with its neighborhoods of Mangalem and Gorica located on the banks of the Osum River. We also know his immense citadel, still inhabited, which houses numerous Orthodox Christian churches and the Onufri museum, with its icons of the sixteenth century. Continue on to Durres, the second largest city in Albania founded in the 7th century BC For centuries it was the largest Adriatic port. The visit here includes the Amphitheater, the Venetian tower and the medieval village. Departure for Tirana. Panoramic tour of the city with the Scanderbeg square, the nerve center of the Albanian capital, Et'hem Bey Mosque, National Historical Museum, the Pyramid, the Blloku area. Day 7: Tirana / Shkoder / Kruja / Tirana (240 Km)
Breakfast. Departure for Shkoder, an ancient center of Illyrian origin with a thousand faces: Greeks, Romans, Venetians, Byzantines and Ottomans, with beautiful churches and splendid mosques. You will be able to admire the Catholic Cathedral of Santo Stefano, the Ebu Bekr Mosque. Departure for Kruja, the ancient Albanian capital, symbol of anti-Ottoman resistance and birthplace of the national hero, Scanderbeg. You will be able to admire the ruins of the medieval fortress and the characteristic bazaar. Visit to the Scanderbeg Museum. Return to Tirana. Hotel accommodation. Overnight.
Day 8: Departure
Breakfast. Time available until the transfer to the airport (flight by the customer, not included in the fee). Transfer service included for any time of your flight. End of services.
